Saw Iii

I loved Saw III but I admit, I was hiding behind my hanRAB for a lot of it! The opening scene probably went through me more than anything else. And the noise during the operation scene - I had to cover my ears for that bit :D
 
loved the film, never laughed so much!! almost as funny as borat :p. that aside it was exceptionatley put togeather and if you have seen the other 2 i would recomend this one ! its alot better than its 2 predecessors!
 
Just seen it (downloaded it... because there's not much lighting in the film it was difficult to make out the gory bits due to the bad quality - possibly just as well!) but I did enjoy it.

However I didn't get the bit about Jigsaw saying he was responsible for Jeff's son's death and how can he be in the next film if he's dead?
 
Great film, thought I had it sussed from the early stages and was sitting there thinking it's gonna be a predictable one but I was totally wrong, brilliant twists in the film.

He didn't mean his son. He meant that he was responsible for the loss of his child. The twist being it was his daughter that he was talking about not his son. The daughter then was shown tied up in a cell with gas being released and the final part of the game was for the guy to forgive Jigsaw but he killed him and so failed.
 
I prefered SAW II to SAW because it didn't resolve around a confusing ublic bathroom consisting of a bath tub and urinals (can't say I've ever known a private bathroom with urinals or a public one with a tub) and the characetrs were less annoying (except for Franky G).

Can anyone who has seen SAW III please tell me if it had that last feel to it that third films seem to have? e.g. X-Men: The Last Stand, Scream 3, Star Wars.
 
I haven't seen Saw 3 yet, but know that two more sequels are planned for the Saw series. I presume Saw IV will be out around this time next year.
 
I thought the third was very good. Better than the second, but they made a bad decision deciding to kill
Kerry (the female police detective) off and also having no police involved except in the start.
Other than that, I really did enjoy the film. I'm still not sure whether I prefer it to the first. The only reason I'm not sure is because the first movie was so original and different and mind-blowing. Also, I felt that the film focused too much on
Amanda
and was dissapointed with
the first of the major twists being to do with her. And she was the reason Kerry died :mad:
 
Just got back from seeing it this afternoon!
For me Saw was original and shocking and it stayed with me for some time.
Saw II was disappointing - and relied far to heavily on shock tactics and gore to make it a film I could really enjoy.
And I have to say Saw III left me feeling a little the same way - interesting twist which I saw coming but was still good - way too much gore for my liking - and I had to turn away several times - really not sure how people come up with this stuff.
No doubt about it if horror/gore is your think you will love it - if you are looking for a little suspense, thriller type stuff this is not for you!
 
Based on that and my general disliking of third chapters in a TV show or film I'm guessing that SAW III is another case of no 3 syndrome. :rolleyes:
 
I actually rather enjoyed this movie. I'm glad that they answered alot of questions regarding adam & amanda. As for the ending, i admit it could of been ALOT better.

But as it's been reported Tobin Bell was signed for five in the franchise, so we'll just have to wait & see. :D
 
I'm thinking of going to see it at some point, but I'm not really sure if I'll survive it. I was wondering if anyone could answer a couple of questions for me?

Do I have to see Saw 1 and 2 before I see this one?
If I'm squeamish should I see it?
And are there many parts which don't involve lots of blood and torture which I will be able to watch?

Maybe I just shouldn't see it...

Very disappointed. I'm a huge fan of the original, and thought the sequel had its merits. But the third one suffered from sequelitis. Bigger does not mean better.

The gore and twists were pumped up to the max (I've been a horror movie fanatic for over twenty years and found this to be one of the goriest films I've seen).

But it was all so contrived and gratuitous. Everything in the first film made perfect sense, and the gore and twists were there to drive the plot on. Here it felt as though the writers were more focussed on how clever they could be with the gore and the twist rather than the plot. And at I found it really hard to care about any of the characters, other than the first two from the second film.

All the best ideas from the original felt shoehorned and therefore lost their power.
