SAW films on Channel 4 - cut ?

Just started watching it and the logos at the beginning are completely different from my DVD versions. This is from me seeing the uncut R2 dvd and the uncut R1 DVD (the newly remastered director's cut one). The Lionsgate logo is different and the Channel 4 one has no mention of Twisted Pictures. Instead there's a logo for another company I can't remember the name of right now.

Why's this then? Anyone know?

EDIT: The other company was "Evolution Entertainment" and Wikipedia lists it as a studio, along with "Twisted Pictures". Where did Channel 4 get their copy from then I wonder.

I think R2 has less cut than the US theatrical release. It's one of my favourite horror films, but that's more for its beautiful visual and acoustic style than its scariness.

Actually it is. The next film starts with his autopsy - he's very dead indeed. It's one of the things I admire about the series, that having started a one-off film with him dying of cancer, they stuck with it and had him progressively iller in the sequels. He was never going to last long. Worrying about twists in which he comes back is a bit like thinking Titanic might miss the iceberg.

In the second film he asks,"What is the cure for cancer?" His answer is immortality: doing something that will be remembered. He was obviously thinking even then about leaving a legacy, so his influence in later films does fit. However, as the series progresses and we get further and further from his death, it gets harder and harder to credit. (I've not seen VI yet.)

(PS My spell checker insists that "iller" is not a word, but it ought to be one.)

Yeah if i had a penny for everytime i heard him say the worRAB 'appreciate life'.....if it was me i would have just said ' is that right? ' then smacked him on the nose and said ' now what old man? huh?' hopped onto his hospital bed and start thrusting my pelvis, 'you aint got this old man!!!!!!!!!'

Coward!!!!

I have them all on DVD after seeing the first on holiday in January but haven't had a chance to watch them yet. I don't know whether to catch them on the telly in HD with the aRAB spoiling them or watch in good old SD on DVD.

Saw is one of my favourite franchises, I like that they follow on and have some continuity, they don't pander to people who haven't seen the previous films. Particularly with Saw IV where, if you hadn't seen Saw III, the twist would make absolutely no sense. After the blinding twist of Saw (I did NOT see that coming) the twist of Saw IV is my next favourite, in that I had to rethink what I'd just seen.

Another test for me is whether I have a blinding headache after seeing it at the cinema. Saw V is the only one where the visuals didn't make my head throb. Lets hope they try harder for VI. :D Can't wait.

I don't think C4 are showing the first 2 in HD, at least they weren't last time i checked the info banner. Saw III probably will be though.
