Saw 4

i have only ever seen the first one and i really liked it but it scarred me loaRAB. Are the other ones as good or as gross as the first one?
 
Sometimes I think these films try too hard to create complex storylines and twists. A not so complicated plot and one good twist is enough to make a film entertaining as long as the actors are good and the director manages to create tension on screen.

The first Saw film was very original but how many more of these films can we have where people are going from one room to the next being tortured in more sickening ways. Yes, you can sit squirming peering out from behind your eyes but you can also do that in an abattoir.
 
can someone help me out here please, im really confused by saw 4!?!

at the start we see jigsaw getting his autopsy, then the police come in and listen to the tape and 'the game begins' then at the end the cop goes in to where the victims are to try and save the policeman(rigg i think) and there is geoff(the guy from 3 whos wife was the doctor) in the room with jigsaws body(where 3 ended). . . im not quite understanding that bit. and also how did the other police man and the lawyer get involved with the games??

any help would be much appreciated. . i hate being confused with movies.

I'm confused too, I get that the main events of 3 and 4 were actually running parrallel but I don't get how the police guy got in on it with Amanda and Jigsaw, unless that actually wasn't explained. At first I understood it to be that because he survived the trap and then discovered the tape he felt compelled to take over but then tht doesn't fit in with the timeline at all, so what am I actually supposed to know at the end of this film?
 
Only seen the film once at the cinema but here goes with what I think happened.

The start of the Saw 4, is actually the end of Saw 4.

The rest runs in parrallel to Saw 3 and the detective guy from the autopsy is working with Jigsaw, but we don't know why because if it had been explained at the start, the twist at the end about him being on jigsaws team would have been ruined because we would already know.

I think 5 will explain what the detective has to do next and also how he came to be involved with Jigsaw.
 
As I recall the policeman, Hoffman, had been involved with Jigsaw for a while as he seemed to be involved in the death of the female detective Kerry in the angel trap in III. That's where we first meet him.

it does make sense that the starts the end i never thot of that lo. but the only query with that then is how the 'game begins' cause the way it seems was the tape started off this game that is palyed in saw4 . . ahhh hurry up saw 5 lol
