Saw 4

I've just read some info and seen some pics of this....

Is a fourth instalment of the Saw franchise too much?

Will fans of the previous Saw's be coming back for more this Halloween, when it's released? :D

p.s - the torrents of Saw4 that are around are fake

i will! although i think they should have stopped after the first two.. they must have ran out of ideas surely and i dont really see where they can go now with the whole story line after what happened at the end of the third one,
got any links to the pics??

I'll certainly go and see it. I do think that Saw 3 should have ended the franchise on a high but if Saw 4 can live up to expectations of the original 3 then it will be worth while.

Here's hoping they don't spoil it.

The Saw films have been amazing, so full of turns and twists to shock you....I'm just hoping they stick to good WRITING for number 4 rather than just try make as many twists and as much gore as possible to try make it good..

I can't see it being that good to be honest.
I mean, Jigsaw died, so the main villain is gone (although Tobin Bell has signed up for this film. Furthermore, Amanda, one of the lead roles in the previous films is also dead, so I dont get how they're gonna be able to do it. I'd imagine the 'instructions' will be given through videotapes, but thats hardly interesting. :(

I heard a while ago, about 4 & 5 and that somewhere along the line Jake Gynellehal (Sp!) was rumoured to play Jigsaw's son???

I think they already blew that one in Saw 3. I've seen virtually any gory horror film of the last 20 years you care to mention, but watching the Extreme Edition on DVD, was the first time I've ever looked away from the screen during a horror film.

I'm afraid I think they crossed the line with the skull/brain scene in Saw 3. Gore for the sake of gore, and rather detracted from a good third film in the series, something of a rarity in any genre, never mind horror.

Ooo cant see him doing that but I would like it :D

I'd go and see Saw 4 although wasn't a big fan of the last one. They'd have to keep the deaths pretty gross and inventive though for me lol

:)

Leaving both protagonists dead may help to keep the series fresh and not stuck in a rut. They just need to keep hitting the Halloween deadline.

Saw 4 is basically the start of a new trilogy. Jigsaw is dead but my guess is that we'll still get Tobin Bell's voice in the movie from tapes that Jigsaw had already done before he died. And someone else will take up the Jigsaw name.

I actually thought Saw 3 was great. Jigsaw's motives were finally explained and yet it didn't ruin him as a character. It certainly DID push the boundaries in terms of content. But I think it's on the commentary where they say how even with all the blood and torture the only problem the censors had was with the nudity in the scene where the girl gets frozen to death. It's like, you can see a drill going into someone's brain but lord god NO you can't see a nipple, you might die of shock.
