Saw 3 being banned?

I heard through a friend today that they are considering banning Saw 3 because of all the people fainting, leaving the cinema etc

I dont have a source other than my friend, who had been told by a friend who apparently heard it on the radio.

Has anyone else heard this rumour?

I think it's crap if they ban it. Surely people must know what they are going to watch and expect it to be gory. I thought The Hills Have Eyes was a lot worse than Saw 3

I really doubt they'd ban Saw 3. You don't see films like I Sipt On Your Grave, Salo and Pink Flamingo's being banned (well some of them were but not now).

Its just a rumor but i find the idea of banning films luracrus anyway. Films like Salo and Cannibal Hollocaust are horrible films (not horrible as in rubbish) but i dont think that people should ever be banned from watching them if they wish.

Why?!

Its not particularly nice film, but i only cringed a few times, there were no scenes were i had to phyisically look away.

That's what I said to my friend! I said to her that i reckoned it was a load of crap, 'cause I've seen worse films than that one.

Well Im going to see it tomorrow.. going to catch it before it gets banned (if it does!)

Ive heard all these horror stories about people fainting etc, and I am a little worried. Ive seen 1&2 and they weren't too bad.

Personally, I found the Hills have eyes really bad, worse than Saw 1&2. Also, everyone hyped about Hostel, and I watched it and didn't think it was that bad.

So I'll wait and see what I think of Saw 3. I'll let you know if I get through it without fainting/throwing up/dying :D

I Spit on Your Grave and Pink Flamingoes are banned in the UK in their uncut versions.
ISOYG's UK dvd is badly cut.
PF has never been released uncut in the UK.
Salo was banned for about 25 years.
But I think all the SAW 3 stories are generated by the films publicity department.
This is exactly the same type of thing we had in 1973 when The Exorcist came out.
The film has a BBFC 18 certificate so although a local council could ban it from their local cinemas,it would not be possible to ban the film properly either now or when the dvd comes out.

Although the eventual SALO release in the UK is uncut,Cannibal Holocaust is and always has been cut to shreRAB

IMO it is the third film in the series and it has been described as one of the goriest films ever so in a way people should know what they are going to see.

I don't think it should be banned.

:)

I haven't seen it yet, but I can't imagine it being any worse than Hostel, which for the record, I thought was quite an original concept, even if the acting left a lot to be desired.
