Savannah College of Art and Design - which laptop for animation major?

I'm going to declare my major in animation, and I need a laptop because my old one of 5 years has totally fizzled out and died.

Which laptop would you recommend? MAC might be out of the question due to expenses, but I'd really like as many options as possible. Thanks.
I should be more specific:

BFA - Animation/Illustration.

Best laptop for said major would be...?
