Sanyo Scp-7050 help nam programming

Hi,

I purchased a used Sanyo Scp-7050 off of ebay which was originally a sprint phone and sent it off to UnlocktoTalk.com to have them flash it to Cricket. Well, they had all kinRAB of trouble getting the spc removed but they were finally able to do it and flash the phone.

So, I take the phone into the local cricket place to get it changed over and they can't get into the nam programming mode. On this phone it's ##SPC#, and the spc was changed to 000000 but when you put ##000000# the phone shuts off. The weird thing is other codes work, like ##3282# gets you into service mode and you can change some stuff there with no problems. Also, ##00000# puts you in the debug menu.

I don't understand what the deal is and if anyone has ever experienced something similar with another phone or has any ideas for me that would be most appreciated. I'm going to be buying a data cable and trying to reflash it myself in the meantime(going to take a week to get the cable since no one locally has one).

got a trick for you.

do ##uswest# this works on any sanyo phone, but it only works once. meaning that if someone already used it before on your phone, it will not work.

this is the easiest way to manually program a sanyo without getting spc
 
Thanks for the reply. The SPC code is 000000. I know this because in order to get into the advanced menu you have to enter the msl/spc and six zeros works. I'm really thinking that there was a problem when he flashed it and corrupted something? Once my data cable arrives I'm going to try to reflash it and see what happens.

So, my cable came today. I plugged it in after installing sprint connection manager and it comes up as usb modem and wants drivers?? I point it the drivers that came with the connection manager and it says they aren't xp64 compatible!

After some google searching I can't seem to find drivers that work for xp64. Am I just out of luck?

So, I finally succeeded on this phone. It turned out to be the weirdest thing ever. For some reason, no matter what you do, if you enter ##000000# it would turn the phone off. So, even after writing a new prl and re-writing the spc code to 000000 it still behaved the same.

I had a weird hunch and decided to change the spc code to something other then six zeros. So, I wrote 123456 and sure enough bam, access to the nam programming menu. I'm not sure why the six zeros causes the phone to crash, but frankly I don't care anymore since I got it to work.

My next thing is I'm trying to get any kind of different ringer on here. I'm been searching around and it seems sprint didn't want anyone messing with their filesystem. Bitpim only supports phonebook changing. I don't have web working(maybe someone could help me there if it's possible?) so I can't download any off of a sms or wap. The sound recorder doesn't let you save it as a ringtone....which is just lame.

Does anyone know a way to use qxdm or qpst to transfer files like ringtones? Any info would be most appreciated.

use cdma workshop...

as far as ringtones go.... bitpim should be what you are looking for (haven't personally tried with this phone though)
