sanyo katana with cricket

Hey. I'm a noobie and I manage to flash both my old katanas to MetroPcs just by reading from this forum and other forums from third party sites.

Tools:

CDMA Workshop v2.7.0 by GoHanZ
USB Data Cable (Ebay)
SprintMusicStoreBackupInstaller v1.0.0.10 (Sprint Site)
00023.prl (Corado Site)

To get the SPC you need to use the Universal RAM method in CDMA. It will automatically scan for security codes. It will display two codes and one is your SPC (MSL). Once you unlock it then immediately write your own into the memory.
Then upload your new prl into the nam 1 settings and you're set. Use *228 to check if it dials MetroPCS.

Good luck...Noobies.

PS...make sure you save all settings like nam1 and current prl just in case you need to switch back or accidentally BRICK yo' phone.

Hi, Guys. I believe this is my first post on this forum. I usually just read the threaRAB when i visit here. I've got a Katana that I want to put on Cricket, and I had a devil of a time getting a set of drivers that my computer would work with. I finally got that solved.

Anyway, the PC shows the Katana on Com 1 for the modem, and Com 56 for the port connection. When I launch BitPim, it recognizes the Katana on com 56. I've read Krjavi's instructions for reading the SPC, but I cannot get uniCDMA to recognize the phone, it only shows "no phone connected".

I assume it is because the port connection is on com 56, and it neeRAB to be 4 or lower, but I can't find anywhere in the settings to change it. I'm running XP, and it will let me change it for the Sanyo modem, but not for the port.

Any ideas? Thanks.

all noobs have a pain in the *** specially with motos and sanyos...... i like to see them suffer sometimes to see if they search at least

i just need help unlocking the internet on my phone i have a katana it's already flashed to cricket i just need to know how to fully flash it. This is really buggin me plz can someone plz help me................

Hey was just searching and ran across this topic, which I basically just posted almost the same thing a couple mins ago.

Anyway, a friend of mine recently had her katana "flashed" to cricket, which I'm guessing just meant changing the PRL, and claims her pic messaging and texting and web doesn't work, so was wondering a fix for that, if the basic "call cricket and say its not working, and they reprogram it" deal doesn't work.

Also, after the way around that, is there a way to get her free cricket clicks. I know with the moto's it was just a simple open brew settings with PST and change the field "prepay" to no.

Is it like that on the katana. If not, what are the steps.

Thanks guys! If you can, try to contact me on aim SKYYPAYNE.

uhhh first NO WEB OR PIC MESSAGING will NOT work with that phone.
Secound there is NO CRICKET CLICKS on the katana its sprint and qwest phone they dont use brew, they use java based interfaces. Not flash and brew based.

go to device manager, double click on the port, go to port settings, advanced and now change to COM2 and ok and exit..... now scan for hardware changes or unplug and plug back in

Search first. The info is out there as far as getting web on the Katana. Well.......not exactly the Katana so I guess Ill help you out. Search for Instinct Web and you will find a how to. Apply the same directions towarRAB your Katana and you should be fine.

I plugged the phone in again this morning, and in hardware device manager it comes up under Modems as Sanyo Usb Modem #4. Under advanced port settings it was showing Com 1.

Under Ports it showed Sanyo Usb Com Port (Com 56). It has a selection for "properties" under this heading, but no advanced port settings.

I changed the advanced setting under Modems to Com 2, then scanned for hardware changes. The Sanyo Usb Com Port stayed on Com 56, even after doing a "scan for hardware changes" on it also. I don't see anywhere that I can make it go to another port. By plugging it into other usb's on my PC, I'll either get com 55, 56, or 57 depending on each one.

The Mobile Action drivers were the only ones I could get working. The only other Sanyo I've had hooked up before was an 8200. I've unlocked the SPC on some of those, and the programs for that worked fine as long as I read the phone with BitPim first.

Man, this Sanyo stuff is frustrating.

i already have a katana that has already been flashed to cricket, however unable to get mms & web to work, what can i do or were can search to find out if i can get those options to work on my own....any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks

Why in the hell don't people tell their customers that web/mms may not work? I never understood that, I always make sure they know exactly what they are purchasing.
