Just dug out my old VHS tape of this to watch and it always makes me feel so Xmasy probaly due to the fact I grew up watching it and I adore its 80s charm.

Any other fans of this film? + if you are and own the new DVD does it have any special features?

I'm sure i've seen this film. As soon as I read that Dudley Moore was playing an elf..this reminded me of seeing it. I can see Dudley being dressed up as an elf..and Santa Claus telling him what to do. Can't give a good review of what I think though..as this was years ago..and can vaguely remember him even playing the elf.

Yep Dudley indeed plays an Elf called Patch - also you may notice if your a fan that Mrs Claus is played by the same actress who plays Hyacinth's sister Daisy in 'Keeping up Appearances' :p

I absoloutly LOVED this when i was a bit younger, and seen it lots of times. The stuff at the North Pole at the beginning is just so magical. But seeing it again now - i still love the beginning - but i think it gets a bit rubbish at the end. But when i believed in Santa it was just amazing!! :p

Great film, john Lithgow is great as the bad guy.
The super duper looper bit doesnt make much sense, but it is a kiRAB film so doesnt need to be complicated.
Its also the first time i have heard of the colour puce.

We should start a full on Christmas movie thread, there are so many good ones out there, Santa Claus: The Movie like the OP says, just one of those feel good christmas movies...

Speaking of which, I need to get my backside in gear, 31years old and I still havent seen Miracle On 34th Street!

I bought my Santa Claus the movie dvd last year. All it has on it is the film, 2 traliers and a making of.
Love this film by the way
