All set to kick-start his next film SHOOT OUT AT WADALA and spending time giving the finishing touches to the film's script and screenplay, Gupta believes that the reason behind the writer community going extinct in Bollywood is due to the 'shortcut' approach being adopted by those in the business. "See, it is a specialized job and I am all for someone really competent and talented to graduate from being a writer to a director. But then when someone just knocks your doors as a writer and then wants to become a director since he is so starry eyed, it seems like a pointless exercise," explains Gupta, "They get an opportunity to sit across the table with celebrities and feel good about getting promoted in their journey to the top, that's about it."
