Sandisk Cruzer usb 2.0 flash drive?

well it seems that there might be a coorruption issue. Open disk utility when the usb is plugged in. Then select the usb flash drive and slect partition. Select 1 partition in the pull down menu and the format should be MS-DOS (Fat). This will erase everyting off the drive, so be warned and make a backup somewhere else. then click partition

We have mac os x and once plugged into our ports it wouldn't work but the box said that it was compatible with mac whats the problem here?
