Samsung U740 WAP/Cricket/Clicks Help

ok did that but still getting verizon with *228 .... maybe a locked phone issue .... when i load settings into phone with qpst and then restart the settings on phone that i put in are ok except the PPP um and an user id keep showing [email protected] ..... instead of the [email protected] that i put in. :doh:

also i can't delete the old prl files that were already on the phone ... i tried with qpst and bitpim. :befuddled
 
Ok so i've been trying to flash my phone to cricket to where the picture messages work as well with the internet. Any one have an idea on how to do it? Its a Samsung SPH-A880 from qwest. :erabaresse
 
ok. i just got this phone today, and after many hours i finally got wap and mms working. like most of the posts already here i had to mess around with the phone a lot and i'm not sure exactly what is required to get it set up. however i promise that the following actually neeRAB to be set to no.


I'd be happy to give anyone that neeRAB them the settings i have, but the battery is dead and i only have a car charger for it right now. I'll try to figure this out another day and post the settings i have.
 
to load the prl: I used SamsungPST
to use qpst:
Open service programming. Press read from phone. Go to the roam tab. In preferred roaming browse for the prl file. press write to phone. that's it. you don't need to delete the old one or anything like that.
 
Okay, this is frustrating......

I have a u740 Alias that I'm currently using that I had WAP and MMS working on fully before when my daughter was using it.

I ported my nuraber to it and then did a *228 and that effectively broke the data provisioning.

So today I was able to use the OP and get incoming MMS working. But as soon as I edited the settings in QPST, even that stopped working. I now keep getting a Network Unavailable error, and the phone doesn't even attempt to connect. So there's no point in calling Cricket and asking them to refresh my account.

I don't know why I even bothered with QPST: I've done several of these successfully with only Samsung PST! (I'm on a different machine and didn't have the u740 at the time.) :doh:

Under MDR Mode, which should I be using? The options are: MDR Only, MDR if available, No MDR, Svc Opt 33 Preferred.

Meanwhile, I will go over the settings carefully in Samsung PST. If someone could zip and attached a working MMC file, it would be greatly appreciated.

*EDIT: Nevermind! I got it fixed using Samsung PST finally.

Apparently, MDR Only works.
 
Can anyone help me find (xxxxxxxxx*Mod EDIT*xxxxxxxxxx) to complete this loop. I am having trouble locating it. Feel free to PM me.

my only prob with these was to learn that i have to return the "enable user edit" valu back to "0" from "1" or the settings will revert...

didn't see that one in the guide when i did my first one and i was gettting so frustrated...lol

going on day 4 of trying to do this .... i'm starting to think theres something about this phone that will not allow it to flash to cricket ..... can a locked phone be flashed to cricket? .... can it be unlocked somehow??
oh ... and is the dll just drivers to hook phone to pc?? :befuddled
 
could someone export their setting from PST (mmc file) and share it here. I'm going over the steps several times, but I'm getting an error with network unavailable (wap) and failed mms, my guess is I'm somehow skipping a setting I needed to change. Someone's setting file would really help me determine what setting that is.
