Samsung Trace or BlackBerry Pearl?

I just decided to switch to T-mobile after having Verizon for a few years. I like very slim phone and do a lot of messaging. I don't need the internet no e-mail I just want the slimist phone that is the best at texting. also i like to be able to use my own files for ring tones. That a bonus but not the most important so which is the best.
 
Get the Trace if you want a thin phone and don't need anything that a smartphone offers. I would wait until March to see the new released phones on T-Mobile.
 
T-Mobile used to carry the 8801 but it discontinued it and sold them out to all the existing customers with contract upgrade. I should have gotten in on the deal since it was only $149 with one-year extension. I don't think T-Mobile is going to carry the 8800. However there are some Nokia (mid-range or low-end), Motorola, and Samsung to be released in Feb/Mar.
 
thanks I want a blackberry that's small the perl seems to fit what I want. I know you can always wait and get better deals, but then you will always be waiting and not doing. thanks for the help everyone
