Samsung SyncMaster XL2370 for PS3 Gaming, Blu-Ray and PC Use?

I'm picky, but not a video enthusiast or hugely bothered by TN technology. I use my current Samsung Syncmaster 2032MW via DVI on PC and the PS3 via HDMI. I've had it years, the colours and brightness are rather dim. It's max resolution is 1680x1050 and has a response time of 5ms. It is TN also, but it's not bad.

I was thinking of getting a Samsung SyncMaster XL2370 for my desktop. I will use it for long periods of desktop use, including surfing the web, watching online videos, DVDs and HD Videos on PC. I will also use it for PC Gaming as well as doing HD PS3 Gaming and watching Blu-Ray (1080p) on PS3 as well.

There's a lot of contradicting information out there on the web, an it appears the best out of these Samsungs, an 22-24" Monitors (for all round use) are either praised in one professional review and then hated in another. Forums are no different. This seems the best all rounder, an has the only inputs I require. DVI and HDMI. This is good, because I don't like extras being added an paid for, which sacrifices cost for the quality of the screen.

Based on my current screen:

Will the Samsung SyncMaster XL2370 be a good Option? I don't want speakers because I have separate ones to run from the PS3 and I use a Stereo Gaming Headset on PC. I don't want a HDTV / Monitor hybrid either.

This Samsung SyncMaster XL2370 appears to have the least diversity in terms of good / bad reviews, an seems liked all round. Although some things said about it are poor, like it's price, yet others refer to it as a "day to day" monitor, which makes it sound cheap and useless.

Apparently for an LCD TN (LED Backlit) the colour gamut is good, the contrast is impressive and above average and there is pretty much zero ghosting and literally no input lag. I've not heard much in regards to backlight bleeding, but apparently it suffers minor bleeding, but I'm unsure about black crush. Is the crush bad? Remember I'm coming from a Samsung Syncmaster 2032MW (Monitor TV Hybrid), but I want a significant improvement I can rely on for at least 3-4 years.

Most common uses of this monitor will be:

Desktop/Surfing the Web/Instant Messaging/Basic Photo Editing/Online Video (DVI)
PS3 Gaming (HDMI)
PC Gaming (DVI)
PS3 Blu-Rays (HDMI)

My concerns came from the following:

I was wondering how well it scales, an whether this monitor actually has any scale-ability or whether (due to it being a PC monitor) it relies solely on a Graphic Card to scale. I do not want ANY black bars on any scaled stuff on the PS3. I don't suffer any black bars on the PS3 now with this old thing, so I wouldn't want it on a new one. Adjustment doesn't me.

Are these enthusiasts just nit-picking? I'm more than an average user, an I'm not one of those kinds who just look through magazines and go "OOH 32"!!!, That one!" without looking, so I would like some image clarity, brightness improvements, better colours at least somewhat over my current monitor.

It is essential this monitor performs well on PS3 and PC. I don't understand why the reviews are so good, yet rounded off by things which make it sound bad.

Height, or adjustment for this sort of thing doesn't bother me, because whilst I may view from afar in bed, or to the edge, the majority of the time I'll be using it on my PC or whilst jamming on the PC.

Non-biased reviews please. Video techies and enthusiasts welcome, but don't be so harsh on products in your critic ways.

So... this any good?

Thanks in advance. I apologise for the long post.
