Samsung solstice speaker question?

i have a samsung solstice and i cant figure out why my speaker is not working!! its driving me crazy! i have tried restoring my phone, turning it off and on, sliding the speaker button to the "On" side and even connecting it to my computer. the phone only vibrates even if i set it up as "Vibrate AND melody" or "Melody only". How do i turn on my speaker?
 
I have the same problem with mine. I just took it apart and found that the connector from the speaker assembly to the mainboard is crappy. Mine broke off the board so the only way to replace it is with a new mainboard. Not even close to being worth the money.
