samsung s2 500gb external hard drive problems?

i have had my hard drive for about a week or two now, and it worked fine at first, but now my laptop can 't find it even though it is plugged in, and the blue light is flashing on the hard drive.

i have tried rebooting but it hasn't worked.
is there anything else i can do?
