These data plans are way out of hand. With the wi-fi capability of phones like the Omnia, it is easy enough to replicate at wi-fi spots. If the email is so important that it needs to be answered right away shouldn't that be a phone call?
Consumers need to start saying "no" to these insane charges. Phone makers need to realize they can make money selling the phone and letting the user pick the packages.
Vonage needs to get in the act too. Why not have a phone the uses a cell carrier when needed, but wi-fi when available. I tried the iPhone with Skype, it does not cut it.
I'm open to helping folks with the technical know how make it happen.
