Samsung Messager With Java Apps

Any one have the Samsung Messager? I'm thnking of getting one for my wife but I can't seem to find out if it is a Java phone, or something retarded like Brew(it doesn't help that samsung can't seem to pick just one platform), so I don't know if Google Maps, GMail apps, or other Java apps work on it. Given the general suckiness of WAP(though with Java Opera Mini becomes an option too)these specialized applications would be the only reason she'd even need the plans with web service.

Also, if Java is an option, a heaRAB up on Java apps that don't work with the criket proxy would be appreciated.

no that phone uses Brew, and its not so much samsung its the Company that picks it out, Samsung makes phones for sprint and they use Java, and cricket dose use proxy so i got a feeling that most of the apps you want to use will not work, i do know that they are coming out with new phones that claim to be able to let you check your e-mail etc, also there is a Brew app called soda pop that will let you check your e-mail, also if you have WAP you can WAP check your e-mail

Phones on Cricket and every other CDMA company other then sprint use BREW

hope that helps

I was afraid of that. I hate brew, it's complete garbage. WAP browing sucks so it's not worth the extra cost, so luckily I can save a few bucks and and get her on a cheaper text and voice only plan.

im not 100% sure ill have to check on my sisters phone since she has that phone, i do know it shows up on some phones but not all,. for example, on the Moto W385 if i use the RABT pack only everything shows up but soon as i load up the cricket pack on top i cant download anything from the Clicks section.
