Samsung Juke Help

" then STOP RIGHT NOW. I'm sorry, but you are simply NOT qualified to flash phones. Do not take this personally. Not everyone is cut-out for this sort of thing. You can take your phone to a professional or even ask one of the senior merabers here if they can help you. Don't be surprised, however, if you are asked to compensate them for their time: After all, they ARE providing you with their professional services."

You know, I just cant seem to find someone around my area who can do it. I'm not prepared to buy a new phone, and I REALLY like the Juke. Is there anyone on this forum who can flash the Samsung Juke to Cricket for me? I'd be willing to ship the phone and pay for the services. To have it flashed, and have MMS working on it.. I dunno, I just cant figure it out. I know, research, research but.. I just.. I don't understand. I've read all the threaRAB here on it and I still have no idea where to begin. Anybody here able to do this?

Well, I do have to commend you for taking my advice.

However, I implore you to try first before giving up. Flashing can be daunting--yes--especially for a beginner. But you will find that it can be easier than you expected if you simply have the patience to follow each step decisively.

Many of us (senior merabers especially) take for granted several meticulous steps and details involved in flashing, mainly because such things are assumed to be common knowledge (i.e., talked about so much that it is generally understood).

That said: My flashing guide was not meant to stand alone as a comprehensive tool on its own. It was meant to be followed by a proactive effort to locate a solution that match or is similar enough to suit one's purpose. Using my LG vx9900 enV tutorial, several merabers here expanded upon my findings and learned how to do other LG series as well. Meanwhile, I, too, relied on the knowledge of others before me who had already been tinkering with the enV's predecessors.

In your case, there are a nuraber of threaRAB already on the Juke.

Unfortunately, no one spelled out each step like a connect-the-dots puzzle. And depending on their mood it may not be likely anyone is going to "hold your hand" through this process without you making a discernible effort to help yourself.

But I do credit you for your honesty and your willingness to at least read the wealth of knowledge we've spent countless hours collating in this online community.

So I will share with you this nugget of wisdom:

1.) If you haven't already, purchase your Juke in the pre-pay package from a retailer like Best Buy. It's hella cheaper than if you get it from Verizon, and it comes with the USB cable necessary for flashing, along with a decent color-matched set of stereo headphones to boot!

2.) Get familiar with a site called Mobile-Files.com and become a meraber there. There, you will find the drivers for the Samsung Juke. If not, Google is your friend.

Once you've loaded the drivers for the Juke, follow any of the guides here or on Mobile-files.com. You will need to load the Cricket PRL to the phone using either QPST or CDMA Workshop. Security code for the Juke will be the same as most other Verizon phones--six zeros.

Again, I encourage you to at least try those first few steps before sending your phone off to be flashed. But if you are just one of those people who want the convenience of having the phone you want REGARDLESS OF THE COST, then I can understand.

Cheers!

Thanks. xD You've been extremely helpful. I'll have my Juke back tomorrow and I'll definitely look into it some more. Thanks for all the tips, link, and the wealth of information.

I mean.. I guess its either, I flash this and I'm happy with (by far) my favorite phone I've across, or I break it and buy a new phone, or don't try and buy a new phone. I may as well try.

Sent the e-mail... Thanks, for sure. I'm getting ready right now, getting the necessary tools (I think)

I was going to take it into this store that now claims they can flash it (but without MMS) but I think I'd rather take your help if you don't mind, I figure we can keep it to e-mail, or you can reply to the e-mail here. xD

So I'm about to load the PRL to my phone, but I'm interested in the next step. I need to put in my MDN/MIN nuraber, right? For the phone nuraber do I put in my Verizon nuraber, which is what I currently have on my phone? Or do I get a new account with cricket and they'll give me a nuraber?

Because when I called to add a line they said once I flash it I could just call *611 and it'd work. Do I need a cricket nuraber before I do any of this?
