Samsung D520 or LG Kg800

I was browsing phones today and came across these two phones. They both look pretty similar but I don't really know much about how they compare. Which one would be better? I'm not so much looking for features, just the essentials such as battery life and build.

LG800 all the way man.. such a much sleeker and cooler phone... jsut looks wise wins handsdown. touchpad for buttons... unf unf. its just really cool.

LG:
128 mb onboard memorry
better looking phone

Samsung
less onboard memory 80 MB
better screen QVGA 240 x 320
thinner

Its a toss up.
Battery life is hard to say, most ppl haven't owned either long enough yet to comment on the battery life, maybe in another week or so we'll get reports filtering in.

In terms of build, both are plastic construction, lightweight and have smooth sliders. I personally would go with the LG cause of the wow factor and it edges out the samsung feature wise.

Now if you were comparing the LG chocolate to the samsung SGH-E900, the samsung wins handsdown purely based on features.

Mm, the D520 and KG800 are very similar in class, the D820 is a pretty different phone from the KG800 by the fact is has mem card storage and the other 2 phones do not.

the d520 and lg chocolate are very similar phones, its true but the d520 does not have Touch-sensitive navigation keys, or is it a pure fashion phone as the e900 and lg chocolate. also have u seen the price differences?! $250-300 for the D520 and $450-500 for the kg800.
therfore i think the only real phones that compete at this moment with each other in terms of fashion phone, touch sensetive keys and prices are the samsung e900 and the lg chocolate,

ok, what?!?!? it is a different phone since its got a memory card?!?!?!? , that is the weirdest thing i have ever heard! the phone isnt different because it has a slot! and if u ask most people they would say that the lg should have a slot especially at the prices they are going for. but what i meant is the D820 is more comparable in price then anything else.

u know what, let me the first to say i was wrong! the D520 is alot more comparble to the lg kg800 then the D820. except for the fashion aspect the D520 has as good features as the lkg800 and more or less the same size, i take it back! they are the same and if u dont care about the touch sensetive buttons and can live without the vibe and ring together feature then DONT SPEND YOUR MONEY! INHO, U WILL BE BETTER OFF WITH THE SAMSUNG!

senstive topic i see. haha. the chocolate is a better phone imo. but if you do compare.. the e900 would be a better choice from samsung.

k, as the title suggests, i'm completely new here... anyway, I just bought the D520 a week ago and was also contemplating between this one and the chocolate. Now, I read up some reviews about the LG and people were obviously saying in looks it wins hands-down..but that the navigation was a bit slow and it was especially slow when taking pictures. I checked out both, handled them, played with the menus, etc, etc, etc. I have to admit I was really drawn to the chocolate's red colors... so smooth.. but in the end it was a good chunk cheaper to get the samsung, so I went with it. Now, in my part of the world, people exchange phones like crazy (I've been here 15 months and this is my 4th phone)... so I wouldn't be surprised if I also break down and get the chocolate at a later date... but I really don't see the need as this one has so far met most of my needs.

My only questions are why I can't assign a ringtone to a particular person as the menu seems to hint that I can. But everytime I try to it says "phone memory empty". Now, it's given me this message with 1 mp3 loaded and now 10 mp3's. (30 second clips at 64bps). Plus I was under the impression I could give a particular picture to a contact, but it's giving same message. Maybe this has to do with the fact that all my contacts were added automatically from my SIM card... so I need to look into that. And for those that might be wondering - yes, i did read the manual. And all it says is - here you can customize your ringtones!! But doesn't say I can do it for each person...

Another frustration is why I can't assign one of my ringtons to my alarm clock. I'm guessing it has to be polyphonic ring or something... cause mp3 and wav didn't work.

So um, as for your original question - yes, the LG has more space, is a bit cooler looking, but costs a lot more. They both have 1.3 megpix cams, which kind of surprises me in the new wave of cam phones that they didn't just upgrade to the 2 megpixel. The chocolate weighs 83g and the samsung 93g. Their screen size is the same 176x220. At times I wish I could get the LG especially considering I can't get the personalized tones/pics to work. And my last 2 phones in the States were both LG's... either way, tho, I think both phones are good and attractive... u just need to decide which one's better suited (or cooler).

update - finally figured out how to personalize ringtones and wallpapers... not hard, i'm just a dork. oh, and i dunno about lg's battery, but with my samsung, it's been 2 1/2 days since i've charged it, taken some small videos, tons of pictures, been bluetoothing it all day with new stuff, non-stop text messaging, plus about 2 hours of talking... and it just gave me low battery warning
