Hello, I have the Samsung Alias™. Recently I went ice skating. I fell twice during the night but never on my phone. I received a text message so I naturally opened my phone! When I opened it however the screen was in flip mode. It was sideways/horizontal when it should have been up and down/vertical. I then switched to "QWERTY" mode where it normal is sideways/horizontal and no error. Flipped back to normal position, and it was in the same display as "QWERTY" flip mode.
However, later in the night I got another text and then phone went back to normal. Closed my phone and opened it again too see the sideways/horizontal mode again.
I don't know if that makes sense. But basically my phone when opened isn't displaying up and down but rather on its side. Even simpler take your phone as you open it and rotate it 90 degree to the right and that's how it displays.
Hope I was able to be as descriptive as possible. Hope my phone isn't screwed over. It is inconvenient for it to be in flip mode at all times. Inverting all the buttons to flip mode when it is in regular call mode.

Update: I have tried taking out the battery, turning off and on, and reset from the phone options.
I turned the phone off, and it came up fine and then went into perma flip mode after the v-cast logo went away loading the phone up.
