Sam D600 vs. NK 6682

Currently I have Nokia 6682. I am pretty happy with it, but a bit tired of Symbian OS... Before NK 6682 I've had NK 6620 (basically same thing)...

Now I am getting Sam D600 thinking of selling my both Nokias.

Question for previous Symbian users: do you think it's gonna be easy to switch to non-symbian phone? Are there as many useful apps for D600 as for S60 and where do i browse them?
The most frequently used apps on my NK 6682 is MP3 Player and Smart Movie. Is there an app (or maybe D600 has it in it's soft) to watch movies in horizontal, fullscreen mode?

You're going from a smart phone to a regular phone. You can't really compare the 2 in terms of features. The 6682 will win.

I have a 6680 and I love it. I needed a change in what type of phone I was using. I love my D600. It does not have as many functions as my 6680, but I love the style, build quality, audio quality, and the dual speakers. For me the transition was easy, seeing how I've had so many phones previous. My d600 is a refreshing change. I would highly reccomend it.
 
i also have both a 6680 and a d600.... they are really two separate things (although i am selling my 6680 because i just bought a blackberry 8700) the d600 is a fantastic phone/multimedia device whereas the 6680 incorporates a solid phone and media capabilities with the PDA like functions and expandability. i use a smartphone and a regular phone all the time, and the only reason i'm getting rid of the 6680 is because i need the blackberry email service for the new company that i'm working for. otherwise its a great device, just like the d600 is fantastic, its a feature packed phone that does everything well, its built fantastically and it has looks to boot. if you have to make the choice though, it really depends on how you use a phone, is the pda functionality going to be any use to you, if not, the d600 is probably the better choice.
 
does the D600 have any of the GSM backround static that many nokias are famous for?.....so far, the Razr seems to be one of the only phones that has gotten rid of the GSM static that i have tried so far....
 
There are few speakerphones that will ever match the audio quality of the earpiece. The speakerphone is really good on the D600 though. Talking on the phone using the earpiece is very comfortable to use.
 
Just got D600... First impression is good. I don't like few things about PC connectivity... Some minor things, like for example i can not create folders in the phone's memory music folder... maybe i just have to play with it more...

the speakerphone is very good. Better than NK 6682 and most far better than NK 6620. However, I'm missing one thing... one-button activation... it'll take a while to get used to it...

I think I'll be selling my nokias rather than D600...
 
How is the reception compared to the Nokia's which are supposed to be excellent in RF?
Is the UI fast?
Is the screen really a treat? (supposed to be one of the best in the market.
 
The RF is ok.. nothing like nokia but still very usable

The UI is awesome. It's among the best I've used

The screen is better than any other i've used as well... it's very bright and vibrant
 
About the RF I don't have any problems yet. No difference between D600 and NK 6682.

UI is good... takes time to get used to but still pretty good. The menu seems to be faster than 6682.

Screen... hmmm... same ammount of colors and more pixels on smaller area than NK 6682 makes D600 look way better.
 
I've been using Sam D600 for about a month now.

I must say that I really like this phone. I have a hard time choosing between NK 6682 and Sam D600... But NK 6682 wins for me.

Samsung is a great phone with a decent ammount of features. Great camera, high resolution screen, and unique slider form are things that Samsung wins over Nokia. Also I love the cable to connect the phone with TV, works like a charm and makes my friends' eyes pop out However, it has some things that make me throw it against the wall... my main concern is reception. It has slightly worse reception than Nokia. The difference is not that big, however when D600 has 1 or 2 bars of service it fails to send a txt msg and drops calls. One other major thing is battery. Bad, bad, bad... if you're using bluetooth, get youurself an extra battery. It's really hard to find OEM battery for this phone and those from eBay work for about half day...

Nokia also has some problems. Thing that makes me furious is the call log problem. I use only about 10 out of about 70 numbers in my phone book and I hate browsing through to look for the one I have to use... The thing that I love about it, though, is the features. Nothing beats smart phones when it comes to this. I thought that it won't be hard to live without the variety of programs and games available for the S60 platform. But it isn't...

So the bottom line is once you were using a smart phone, transition to a "regular phone" is not easy. (At least for me)
