Yellow tang require large tank ... at least 55 gallon. They are fast moving and active fishes.

Your tank is too small for tang especially with angel already in the tank.

Avoid damsel since they become too aggressive.

How about a bi color benny, royal gramma. Or even another clown.

I have a 29 gallon salt water tank with lots of rock, and I have a Clown fish, coral beauty, fire shrimp, brittle starfish, and some random hermit crabs. I'm looking to add a nice colorful fish that will get along with my other creatures! Any suggestions? I was thinking about a yellow tang but I've heard they can be aggresive. Also I was wondering if snails actually help to keep the tank clean and how many would be needed to keep a 29 gallon clean?

i wouldnt consider another fish because you have small hermit crabs and a clown fish maybe a Yellow Clown Goby it nice and small and a great sand cleaner yes snails clean well

A 29 gallon has the same footprint as a 20 so a cora beauty needs at least 40-50 gallons, and yellow tang needs 55-75 min so maybe some damsels or the like.
you should look for a good forum to get some help
