Well...

I'm quite surprised... but maybe because you're in a beginners class, and usually young people start... well young, so they might be in a more advanced class...

I mean, when you're in your twenties, most are quite sure about what they want to do, and I guess they're not really keen in starting something new, that... kinda takes some time to achieve perfection...

Cheers!!!!!

P.S: Good Luck.

so i joined a beginners salsa dance class and most people in my class are over 40+, and a few couples, im the only guy that is in early 20's, is that the norm , do young people not take salsa classes

It does vary, but that is half the fun of salsa! One minute you could be dancing with someone half your age, then someone double you age! You do still learn as everyone interprets the dance and movements differently which results in you having to adjust your dancing style to accomodate different partners.

Once you move up, you should find a "better" age range of dancer though.

When I took my 1st beginning class, there were people of all ages. From 60 all the way down to a 13 year old girl who came in with her parents. And some of the other beginning classes with the same teachers usually have people in their 20's and 30's so it would depend.
