Noticed over the last few weeks that my local Sainsbury's store has been increasing it's sale items of the aforemantioned items. Picked up Band of Brothers blu ray for 19.99 there a few weeks back.
But I went in this afternoon and there was virtually a whole wall stacked with cheap dvd's and other items - most dvd's were between 3 to 4 quid.
I picked up the following movies that I had not really wanted to fork out full price for previously...but at that price what the hell...
The Damned United - watched it, not bad. Sheen as always is excellent as Clough. Not a huge football fan, but I did live through that era in the 70's and was aware of what was going on in football. Great performances too from Timothy Spall as Peter Taylor and Colm Meaney as Don Revie.
Not yet seen -
The Changeling - the Eastwood movie with Angelina Jolie about the woman whose son goes missing. Seemed to disappear very quickly from the cinemas, and the same on dvd.
The Pineapple Express - reviews have been variable, in truth mostly negative...but the beauty of watching movies like this way after release and post-hype means you approach them with no expectation whatsoever, and even if you don't like them you have only lost a couple of quid.
State of Play - know very little about it only that it is based on the BBC series, stars Crowe, Affleck and Streep and seemed to get decent reviews. Not that familiar with the original so will approach with an open mind.
La Vie En Rose - heard very good things about this one, just never got round to seeing it.
