Safety Paint Pics (large!)

So I decided that i was bored with my plain Shoei RF-1000 and it was time for a new look. I started out with a plain black, matte finish and once I finally figured out how I wanted it to look I went to work.

I super happy with how it turned out, but when I was in the store looking for some pinstriping I saw this night-time reflective clearcoating by "DupliColor".

Check out the amazing difference in these photographs taken in the exact same light settings with the only difference being Flash and No Flash.

I've already committed my wife's "Black Dahlia" Helmet to the same reflective treatment for her safety. The kid's are getting it too, and not just the brain buckets, but the bikes and everything else!

This stuff is amazingly reflective. Comes right out of the spray can and went on easier than any other clear coat I've used because it has more of a matte finish rather than super glossy.

Here's a couple more:

Thanks!

Used all spray can. (Plasitcote) I primered, then sanded layed a base layer of red, wet sanded then sprayed two final coats of red, then masked off the decal areas and what I wanted to stay red and hit the rest with the white. Pulled the masking off and had a nice subset layer to hide and of the lip from the decals. Put all the striping on and decals, then used the reflective clear coat to seal it all off. FInally, I baked it for 10 minutes in the oven at 170.

The gold is pinstripe and underlayed decals that I cut out. Took about a week between work, finding the right materials, and my obsessive attitude.

Did you remove the vent covers or just paint over them? Looks great and very creative with the reflection. I wonder how crazy this looks going down the highway at night.

You, my friend, are a TURD!!

I'm curious as to how this will look on the highway myself. Wish my wife could ride. I'd throw her on the bike and go behind her.

Thanks for the compliments!
