Thanks you guys for the support and kind worRAB. And Kdogg I do try to just do what I would normally do and not let anything affect me, but today i defiintely broke down on that one :-). Anyways, i guess i'm hopeful, and thanks again for the nice worRAB.

And hope you guys are going to enjoy the holiday seasons! good luck with your various regimens.

I went to work today at the company, we were having a meeting at the office. Anyhow, I went to the bathroom, took one look in the mirror and just couldn't go back into the meeting. I took my computer and just freaking left to go home. So I basically drove all the way to work and then drove all the way back and stayed there only like 45 min. This is really sad. My face has this one zit by my nose, and then these two inflamed ones above my upper lip and below the nose. I can't even look at anyone now cause now i feel guilty as well as upset about the whole zit thing.

Anyways, I just had to type something. I went to the derma yesterday and she prescribed me some doryx and tazorac, so I hope doryx will start working SOON. I'm not going to try the tazorac, cause i feel like doryx should work itself if it is to work at all, and retinA which is like tazorac didn't work all that great before and i really don't want another one of those initial breakouts.
I guess i'm getting pretty desperate. Anyways, better luck to you guys.

Don't worry mate, everyone here has felt like that a couple-a-thousand million times! Don't worry. You're not alone. Things can only get better! Chester x

That's not bad . Dont worry, things will get better just dont over do it. You all could be like me and have acne all over your cheeks and jaw like me so just dont use 3 million different things, dont overwash, and dont worry. acne does suck, as much money as this damn govt has, youd think they put more money into health issues. if it gets worse, then maybe try going on an antibiotic. goodluck.

Yeah...

once/if I become really rich and important :-) ...I'll start a fund for acne research.

Hi, I have sensitive skin with mild adult acne and my cousin has bull blown acne all over her face. She's 24.
She's tried everything you can imagine, I've tried mostly over the counter stuff and that crap on tv called proactive which didn't work for me at all. I broke out way worse and this was even after 2 months of use. It said to stick with it cause it could get worse before it gets better, bla bla bla.
Well, that went into the trash.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that recently I ordered some "Beta Hydroxy Serum 5%" for me and my cousin to try out (was at home bored healing from pneumonia... uggg!) Anyway, I did a patch test to be sure I didn't have a bad reaction to it since I have more sensitive skin and all was good. So, her and I did our whole face and it stung a little. Left it on for 5 minutes and then washed with a green tea (soap free) cleansing bar, patted dry and put on "oil of olay sensitive skin moisturizer" which is oil free. Our faces was a little flushed/red after for about 1/2 a day.
BUT the very next day a medium sized zit I had the the left of my mouth was dried up! I kind of flicked the dry skin off and it was gone! I about passed out! Couldn't believe it... Anyway, I still had a slightly small red mark like it does after it heals. My pores seemed a lot clearer too (i'm plagued with large, clogged pores, by the way). My cousins acne was less pronounced, less red and the size of the zits were about 1/2 the size as they were the day before which is amazing! We skipped using the serum on the 2nd day to give our skin time to heal and then did it again on the 3rd day except we left it on for the full 7 minutes this time. Well, we're both flushed/red looking again, no biggie. I can already tell an over all difference in the texture of my skin, it feels smooth as a babies butt! I do have some dry patches where the serum is kind of eating away the dead surface skin cells but that will all pass...
My cousin's fase was red/flushed too but even her skin is looking so much better. This stuff is supposed to deep clean pores and acne and make your skin produce less oil over time. For bad acne it's supposed to take around 3 to 4 weeks to be acne free and develope a good balance in your skin.
I hope you can find something that works well for you!
Good luck!
T.

hey aaron,

chester is right! i dont know how many times ive felt like that....but there are times ive HAD to go out somewhere, there was just no getting around it...so id try to cover it up with makeup but of course, the acne is still noticable...acne can damage your self esteem, we all know it, we've all suffered terrible acne days...one thing to smile about though is the fact you can go to the derm and get help with it...your headed in the right direction by getting treatment, because sometimes all the changing your diet and detoxing your system just aint gonna cut it for some! some of us NEED treatment. i was just prescribed tazorac not too long ago too, and if im not mistaken, i think its breaking me out even more...i didnt use it for like a week and my skin started to dry out and heal and then i decided to use it that night, and when i woke up i had 2 new pimples!
so im not gonna use that anymore, and that stuff is expensive!!! 107.00!!! anyhow, just keep your head up, acne doesnt go away in one day, but your headed in the right direction by getting seen by a derm. good luck

I suffered from cystic acne for many years from the age of 13 on into my 20s. My skin cleared up for a bit, but then it broke out again in my 30s. I had great health insurance, so I used it to see a dermatologist who put me on Accutane. It worked! It's almost toxic to ones system, and you have to have blood tests to make sure you are tolerating the drug OK. I was on it for just a few months. My skin has remained clear for many years now. My son was just the same except that I didnt wait to get him on Accutane. The suffering I went through and the scarring that I have was something I did not want my son to deal with. His skin is clear now about 99% of the time. He is just 18. Accutane was the only thing that really worked. We tried everything over the counter and by prescription. If all else fails, give it a try!

i go through that alot too except im infront of 11,000 people....becuz i work for a professional basketball team. It truly is one of the worst feelings ever and im right there with you! I am now on accutane becuz i have tried everything and nothing has worked but i just look at it this way.....alot of us has gone thru that and alot of us understand that it happens soo when your going thru a bad breakout peoples opinions of you dont change....that is unless you let it change you ;) . so try to fight thru it and be who you are..just my 2 cents

I know the feeling dude. One of my jobs is being a session musician, which means i work on TV alot. Its AWFUL when i'm having a bad skin day, i can just FEEL the cameras looking at the state of me!!

I'm so happy to hear that accutane worked for your son. Unfortunately, I have already done 2 courses of accutane, and the acne has always come back. Lately though I have been considering a 3rd course, but it just seems to be futile for me...

i just found this post and felt like i could have written it myself. this past sunday night i went to bed with one healing pimple on my chin. I was so excited- i thought all of my meRAB were finally working. then monday i woke up to the WORST breakout of my entire life. i've been stressed out lately, but i can't think of anything else that might have triggered it. especially considering that the pimples were most concentrated on my forehead, where i have never broken out before in my life. so anyway, like an idiot i picked and squeezed at everything (i was desperate and confused and depressed!) and i've essentially been hiding from my frienRAB and family all week. and there's no end in sight- today i woke up with a few new pimples, so i can't even tell if there is any progress. i just needed to type something and vent. there's no one to tell and i feel so depressed and alone. thanks--

Have you tried going on birth control pills? Stabilizing hormones can help your skin. Dont give up! I hope you find something that works.

I have actually been considering birth control. I took it about 5 years ago and it made me gain a huge amount of weight, but maybe the newer pills wouldn't do that. Right now I'm taking spiro and solodyn, plus lots of topicals, so it should be enough, but nothing really seems to do the trick...
