Saddest song of all time hands down...*EVER*

Funkadelics - Maggot Brain

the guitarist was told to play the first half as if his mother had died and the second half was to be played like he found out his mother was alive. It was all done in one take. I just think that was pretty cool.

Kansas -Dust in the wind....

not so much a sad song but for some reason the music in the intro sure gets to me

One of my faves...

Breaking Benjamin - Forget It. I love that song so damn much.

The chorus in "The Irony of Dying on your Birthday" by Senses Fail is just downright sad.

I'll lock myself alone in a room
Drinking until the clock strikes noon
With just a pen, a pill and some paper
And maybe I will write a sad song
Or another cliched poem
Of the person that I long to be

2 songs strike me right away by eric clapton

tears in heaven
lonely stranger

also, i went through a pretty rough patch in my life several years ago, and i used to lock myself in my room and listen to this classical piano tape will all chopin music on it. just listening to it makes me feel blank, depressed. the feeling i get listening to it makes me literally feel like im in hell.
