Saddest song of all time hands down...*EVER*

Smashing Pumpkins - For Martha
Ben Harper - Another Lonely Day
Ben Harper - Waiting on an Angel

I avoid these songs like the plague. They'll own me every time I hear them.

Ryan Adams' cover of "Wonderwall" is one of the saddest renditions of any song I've ever heard. And if you want to get emo sad then listen to "Konstantine" by Something Corporate. You can get any more real on high school going away to college lyrics.

You know... if you're really down, eventually every song is like the most depressing one ever. The old romantic song "Besame Mucho" was really sad when I stopped to actually listen to the lyrics.

On that note, hopefully no one is really down in the dumps now -- it's Friday!

It's funny because I heard "nobody Know's in the mid 90's but it's one of the few songs that will forever be stuck in my head. If I hear the title of the song, all these beautiful lyrics come back to my head and just that but the singer's voice too.

I love that song

Listen to "Song To the Siren" from This Mortal Coil, very beautiful and sad. I heard it sampled on some electronica shoutcast station and had to find out who it was...needless to say it's an incredible song. I think there's a female vocalist under the group "Lost Witness" that does a good cover of that song as well.

*edit* the original version of this song was done by Tim Buckley but I didn't like it too much. Female vocals are much more soothing, IMO.
