Back on August 1st I bent over and pulled out my lower back on both sides of my rear end. The doctor said it was my Sacroiliac when I showed him the location. After high doses of advil and sterioRAB, it got better in a week.

Here it is October the same thing happened again, the pain appeared one morning when I woke up but this time I did not bend or lift anything. Again, I am taking the same medications but I have not started to feel better and it has been a week.

I had a back x-ray done back in 2005 and it was clean so the doctor did not feel the need to redo this. Has anyone had this kind of pain come on sudden. It is a burning nagging aching pain that is constant. Has anyone had relief with physical therapy or can shed any light on the Sacroiliac pain.

Thank yoU!!!!

I had the sacroilac go out on me once, a couple of years ago. All I did was pull the sheets up on the bed while making it. I did get x-rays and went to an orthopedic doctor. He confirmed what it was and said it would go away in time, I took Ibuprofen 800mg for it. It was a real pain to walk. It hurt really bad trying to sit down, but after sitting down I was O.K., then trying to get up was another pain. This lasted 2 months, it did finally go away. I feel the pain for you!

Hi! I have had ongoing Sacroiliac problems, over the years. Usually, anti inflammatories and PT have been the first thing. If that does not help, the second step is to ask for an injection of steroiRAB in the sacroiliac joints. This neeRAB to be done by a spine specialist/physiatrist/pain management doctor under active xray. This means it has to be done at a procedure center. It is a pretty easy procedure done with light sedation. For me, the injections are the main thing that have helped. But, my arthritis in the sacroiliac joints has been there for a while. Another thing that has helped is a wedge shaped pillow with a cut out where your tailbone is to sit on. I use it in the car all the time, it is called a "cush tush," or something like that. I totally sympathize with your pain-SI pain makes sitting a real problem. Even right now I am not flared up, but I make sure to take breaks when I sit. I try not to sit for extended perioRAB of time. I hope you feel better! Take care, Kera4

Hi Sunny,
Yes, I am 52 I had 3 children and I now have a granRABon who is 2 and I found about 6 months ago when I lifted him when he was at my home I would feel my lower back hurting but nothing happened. Then one day in Aug, it just went out when I was walking into work and put my brief case down it just pulled out, then a week ago again. I am going to try to do some PT just to see if this works because I call this pain an aching nagging pain in my lower back across my rear end. It was in my legs last week but that seem to disappear thank God because that was very annoying not being able to walk right. This is no fun.. Thank you for your response!

Do you think PT or chiro.treatment is better for lower back problems? Does anyone have an opinion on what they found to be helpful?

thank you for your responses. It is very painful sometimes having this kind of back pain. I never had it up until a few months ago and have had 2 episodes. Did you ever take predisone for your pain. I am on that along with 600 mg. of advil and I still feel the pain somewhat. I have not tried PT so I want to do that. Does anyone know what causes this Sacroiliac pain?

I finally went to PM for other issues and he reviewed my MRI. He said that a lot of women have this issue due to childbirth as someone replied to earlier. I aggravated mine when I broke my tailbone. I get in jections to help mine out. He finally did the radioative thing and it worked. We will see for how long though. I have had to take opiates when it flares up real bad and causes the sciatica

Hi Ashlymichele, Do you have kiRAB? The orthopedic doc told me it was from having kiRAB and those bones sometimes just wear out. I have taken predisone, but not for this. I have not taken anything but ibuprofen, maybe you need to double up on your advil, it can't hurt you, you might be just a bit more sleepy, and of course take it with food or milk, always coat you tummy first. I know this pain can be horrible, I could barely walk sometimes, the pain went from my tush all the way down my leg. I think you just have to give it time and becareful what you do. Not sure about PT, it sounRAB like it might help, but again, I would be very careful of what you do.

Hi! In my opinion, I think PT is better for sacroiliac problems. The core strengthening exercises, and muscle stretching that I learned have really helped me. When the SI area gets bad, the muscles and ligaments really get inflamed and stretched out. PT can help a lot with this. For me it hurt so badly that I needed to get the injections first before I could tolerate the PT, but sometimes you can go directly to PT. Hope you are feeling better soon! I know what you mean about lifting kiRAB, etc. I have 4 kiRAB ages 5-14, and when I was lifting my youngest ones my SI was especially bad. Now, I don't have to lift anyone, but I have to watch it when I turn suddenly or lift groceries, etc.
Take care, Kera4
