S603rd Edition Vs Wm5,6 Pda

I know this has been discussed numerous times, but as devices evolve and technology evolves what can a pda do aside from the american 3g band which we all want, that a n73 or n80 cant, i know the basics some have wifi some dont, and slide out keyboard or qwerty, aside from that which is the overall business/personal/multimedia device and why???

P.s. made the thread to get off of n95 for a few minutes hahahaha

I have both the Nokia N80 and an Orange SPV M3100 (HTC TyTn). I switch between the two now and again, and I'm currently using the Nokia. The M3100 is great for emails because it has a proper email client and a qwerty keyboard, and it has push email which is useful if you need realtime email updates. The screen is obviously bigger, but as a result so is the device. I've just bumped my N80 up to the N80ie firmware, and I'm loving it - VoIP works really well using Gizmo.

The business device is obviously the M3100 - its ideal for work, syncs with outlook, etc. The better device to use every day (as a phone) is the N80.

So it all depends what really matters.

Cant he also go here?

I just got BB connect 4 days ago and I've yet to install it on my E50 as I'm becoming addicted to the "suretype" on my Pearl.

lol...never thought I would say that.

Yeah...I'm kind of surprised by that. I just checked out the available handsets and it includes only the Eseries and S80 phones. WTH? How difficult would it be for a phone like the N95 to run it. Oh well...I'm certain the E90 will be supported and that's my next symbian at this point so I'll hold out and roll with the pearl for a while.

I've used three WM devices, SMT 5600, 8125, and BlackJack. Here's why I stick with Symbian:

1. Automatic sync via bluetooth. ActiveSync, apart from being the worst piece of software I've ever used, does not support this. I can walk up to my front door with my N73 in my pocket, and by the time I get to my desk, my phone and computer have already recognized each other and synced my contacts/calendar/notes/to-do/pics/videos/sms/mms, without me touching either one. This, to me, is key.

2. You can't copy-paste in WM without a touchscreen.
3. I found that with WM, you pretty much have to connect it to a PC to do any customization. Menu layout, etc.

Symbian devices have more multimedia options (camera quality, video quality, etc.)

I've seen you mention that before and I'm completely jealous. I've never taken the time to set something up like that. Perhaps when I get the N95 or E90 I'll take the time to do it. I think I'm always reluctant to do something like that as I know I'll probably sell the damn thing by the time I get it set up. I can honestly say that the N95 or E90 will be keepers so i guess the time is right.

I have three reasons for prefering S60 v3 on my E61:

1. Absolute no Outlook sync problems with Nokia PC Suite. Works as ActiveSync should but never does. Hopefully by AS version 10.0 they may get it right.

2. E61 has by far the best browser of any handheld device I have ever used. Very close to my desktop browser in ability to open all web sites. PIE is an outdated, develop-abandoned, sorry excuse for a browser, that will not open my bank web site - just hangs forever.

3. My E61 OS does not appear to "age" with use as does the PPC OS - perhaps because of memory leaks?. I take no special precautions using it while with PPC devices I backup each day, soft reseting before and after the backup. This helps to minimize random resets and device freezeups as well as protect me when i do get them.

I can only conclude that the MS WM OS developers neither sync nor browse on their PPCs.

Amen brother...I've noticed very little development in their onboard internet explorer from PPC's 3 years ago. The E61 is hands down the best web browsing mobile phone ever. I actually preferred web browsing on my E61 over my Nokia 770.
