Hi all,

Im told u hold the menu button down on ur phone to bring up the task manager....however this is not working for me.

I have the N73 - what's the shortcut for it?

That's your task manager. Its telling you that the standby app and the messanger app are all that are running right now. You can switch apps by selecting a different running app. You can kill an app by pressing the "C" button (at least that's the button on my E70, may be different on other models). As far as I know, that's all you can do from within the built-in task manager. Its a pretty simplistic task manager.

If you want something more sophisticated, you'll have to go to a 3rd party program like Best Taskman.

Hate to bump an old topic, but this is a question that relates.

On my old 6620, I could hit the red phone button when surfing the web and get back to the standby screen (if i wanted to check the time, or open a different app). I could then hold down menu, see the taskman and choose web again.

On my n73, when i do this it apears to completely kill web, or the system settings box that i'm in, or whatever.

Is there a way to get out of a program, but leave it running in the background?

Thanks.

If you hit the menu button twice, you'll be brought back to the standby screen, or just once if you want to get to the menu screen to open another application.

Though, I wouldn't try opening anything too intensive. The N73 doesn't have enough RAM to run the default web browser and much else at the same time, so even going through this process may close your web browser anyway.

Yes just press the menu key twice and that will return you to standby without closing the app. Newer S60's will shut the app down if you press the red key.
