S60 V3 Profile Switcher

I have been trying to track down a profile switcher to change profiles i.e. when at work.

Bitsib and Psiloc do these bu not for v3.

Some new apps are being signed for these phones, but progress is slow!

Does anyone know if one has been released?

WM2005 seem better supported is Symbian on the way out?

Developers release software for this platform way before Symbian v3....

Progress on the S60v3 is very fast. However, you can't expect developpers to make softwares they don't want to bother with.

Probably such apps weren't as good sellers as they had hoped in previous versions of symbian and couldn't be bothered to do it again. It's a simple matter of economics.

Nah, I'd rather have the profile switch automatically to another profile, when I do things, such as plug in my charger.

It's quite annoying, since I leave my phone on Vibrate only all the time, and have Vibrate disable when plugging in the charger.

now that's a valid need....although on some phones it's annoying if you forget that plug in changes it to a louder profile and everyone gets woken up by a late night call.

Its supposed to be a smart phone. Not a dumb phone.

If you want to talk about value added - give me a phone that can switch me into silent mode at the time when I am scheduled to be in a meeting. or at work or whatever.

Lets try to think forward, not backward. Otherwise what is the profile for in the first place?

Agreed 100%...in fact with Calendar integration the phone should even slip into Silent (or something user configurable) when u are in a meeting

I just got an E50, and am quite surprised that it cannot change profiles when I plug it into the charger. My old S40 6230 could do this, and I loved it.

I used the feature to go to a special profile when I would plug my phone in on the bed stand at night. It wouldn't allow anyone through but my immediate family. When I unplugged it in the morning, it went back to what it was on before being plugged in.

I really find it hard to believe some of the features Nokia left out of their S60v3 series phones. Especially for the price....
