S60 phones sync w/ MAC?

you can definately get either native or hacked support through isync, which allows you to sync your basic PIM information, but unfortunately this is not perfect. For example, different calendars in ical are not mapped to categories on your phone. Notes in calendar items and to-do's don't get copied over.

I've actually found using a windows media device with The Missing Sync to provide better functionality. I've suggested to the maker of that software that they should create a version for Symbian.

Notes don't get copied over, but ToDos/Tasks DO GET COPIED OVER, always have. I've used iSync with 6600, 6630 and now N73 and tasks/todos get copied.

Btw: does anyone know of a way to sync Notes from S60 phones to Mac? I guess you could just send them one-by-one via BT from phone.

You also get the problem that All-Day events are seen on the phone as events that last from 12:00am-11:59pm of that day. Which has really only began to bother me since I've started to use the Active Standby (cal) screen on the phone.

Also, supposedly Nokia phones don't understand birthdays prior to 1980, so if you have someone in your address book with a bday of say 1979 and their bday appears in the bday calendar, it wont sync. Fix around is to change their year of birth to 1980 (I just change it to 2000 and in the note of the contact indicate the proper year).

And btw, to answer the questions of how to actually get an unsupported phone to sync with iSync w/o buying a plugin, just do a search online, there are plenty of tutorials on what to change, it takes only a few minutes and you're good to go.

Even NovaMedia.de (the maker of one of these plugins) site says

Q: Nokia does not display all-day-events correctly

Nokia mobile phones use a note to display all-day-events in a standard way. Instead they use a note. This is unknown to iCal and SyncML or the Apple sync agent, so all-day-events will be changed to a 00.00 to 23.59 o?clock event during a synchronisation.

its just as easy to run a hacked plugin, but you have to fix it everytime that iSync has an update. If you want something that's super easy, buy the plugin, but otherwise it takes 10 min to adjust
