s50 widshield

I've got a Memphis Shades Hellcat on my S50. It was easy to install and is very adjustable. It comes with all the hardware to mount and only took a few minutes to install. I'll never ride without it again.

I love the clean air of having no shield - but it gets cold enough here at certain times of the year that it really helps with comfort from cold and rain.
I take mine off for the hot season as there's nothing like having as much air flow as possible to help cool off.

I just installed a 17" Memphis Shades/Fat on my C50 with the quick off mount. It's just the right height for me.(I'm 5'10") On the nice warm days you can remove it in about 5 seconds. Well worth the $$

ORBrit, what kind of shield? I hate to mess up the silhoette of the S50 but as you say, a shield deflects the nasty weather.

Thanks.

I was thinking of going with the Memphis Shades Slim, 17" Tall and 7" Wide for my 05
S50. An opinions bad or good on my selection before I open the checkbook? Thanks in advance.

I think 7" wide would be too small, some times I think I would like a bit larger windshield than the one I have on my S50. Most of the time it is perfect though.

For you S50 riders a tip. Be sure to check your front brake pads, mine were worn paper thin at 10K miles. Lost my squeal in the process, local dealer doesn't even stock the original equipment pads, I went with EBC from the dealer. Be sure to use a quality caliper lub on the pins, about a 30 minute job to change the pads.

I would go with a Big Shot or a Pop Top, with 7" cut out for the headlight. Mine is the Pop Top which is the smaller of the two. If I were to replace mine I would go with the larger Big Shot. One thing I like about these two models is the mounts (not included) make the windsheild very secure and solidly mounted. I get no movement at all of the windsheild even when following big trucks.

Perhaps the previous poster ment to say 7" headlight cutout as a 7" wide windshield would be unusual.
