I have my Desktop hooked up Via S-Video to my Sony Bravia LCD TV, and it will only display in black and white. I also have the monitor hooked up, and the TV is suppose to duplicate it. The TV is displaying the monitor, but only in black and white, with a strange checker patter flickering on vibrate colors.
I had this problem when I first hooked up the cable, and was able to make it go away simply by restarting the computer enough times, eventually it loaded the correct display and was in color. But it has gone now and I can't find a way to get it back.
I can make my girlfriends laptop display in color, but not my desktop. This is an older version of windows and the display properties does not give me the same options I'm used to with newer versions. The resolution is locked at 800x600. color quality at 32 bit. Display is default monitor. There is simply no options to change my display or anything.
I would be convinced the computer wasn't capable of displaying on the new TV, if it hadn't somehow happened and worked for a few months. I have tried googling instructions on how to fix this problem, but all the solutions don't seem to apply to my specific problem, and version of Windows. If anyone knows how I could fix this problem, it would be very appreciated. Thank you.
P.S. The cable is fine, and wiggling it wont fix it
