Russell Brand to play Keith Richards in movie

I heard he'd been cast as him in a Play about the Rolling Stones to be put on by Kevin Spacey..... but not that he was going to do it in a film.

From what I heard Johnny Depp was up for the part and he beat him. :eek:

It was on the news on digitalspy a few days ago.
 
Really??!! I quite like Russell Brand and hope he does well with his acting career (although, unlike others here, haven't seen enough of his acting to decide whether or not he's any good as yet) but, he beat Johnny Depp?? I seriously doubt it ;)

That would be quite amazing if true. Johnny Depp, excellent actor, long track record, big box office success,...yet Russell Brand gets the part?

If that's what happened then you'd think that Russell Brand's audition would have probably been nothing short of phenomenal.
 
It's my opinion.

You obviously haven't seen St. Trinians, Cold Blood, Blessed, The abbey etc...

He is not playing himself...He is always showing off on tv.
his real life consists of him and his cat...oh and the occasional fling. :D
