running

Anyone out there a runner?

I usually run about 4 miles a day. Then one day i decide that after i run the first 4 i will run another 4. And so far everyday after that i have a pain in my left leg. I only feel it when i run or put my weight on it so im worried that it might be a stress fracture. But when i warm up it doesnt hurt so bad indicating that it would be muscle or some kind of tissue damage. Its been going on for a while now and i leave to Air Force boot camp in 2 weeks and i really dont want this shit to come with me. Anyone experience the same thing? and could tell wtf it is?:confused:
 
Well, don't worry too much about running in AF boot... =P

Try drinking more water. Also, rock back and forth on your heels if you think they may be stress fractures. Icing them works, too.
 
Well it certainly sounds like an overuse injury..

This is my only problem with running. I can't do very much mileage day to day because of injuries.

Last fall with my crew we ran about 7km a day just to warm up before practice and my friend got some real bad shin splits but the coach just said keep running.

and he did and his simple split turned into a fracture.

The cure i believe is to give your joints a rest dude. Go biking or rowing on the machine until your body is ready for the mileage again.
