Just heard director David Schwimmer on Radio 5 with reporter Colin Patterson. David was charming but Colin says it's funny but not as good as Simon pegg's own scripts. Anyone going look out for David in a tiny cameo wearing a cap.
Probably worth a look if you're a Simon Pegg fan like me, but I suspect it wont be quite as good as Hot Fuzz/Shaun, though maybe I should reserve judgement til I've seen it.
Just got back from seeing it. It was really predictable as most rom coms are, but it was really funny and hit all the right places in the heart department.
Dylan Moran is brilliant in it, he really should be in more movies.
PS Watch out for David Schmimmers cameo, it involves a cap and a cup of water towarRAB the end of the film
Maybe because people associate unfit with being fat? He was far from obese but because he had a bit of a pot belly (probably down to the beer), they called him Fatboy.
Its a reference to what the shoplifter shouted at him whilst being chased at the start of the film, she/he called him 'fatboy' just as a wind up as he clearly wasn't fit enough to keep up. And Simon Pegg had to wear a fat suit as the belly in the film wasn't his at all, he still has his Hot Fuzz body!
Unutterably terrible. Crushingly witless, depressingly predictable and an appalling waste of the assembled talent. A colossal waste of an hour and a half of my life. Messrs Schwimmer and Pegg should be ashamed.
