Pegg: The fatsuits were annoying!

Simon Pegg has revealed he opted to wear fatsuits to play a pudgy jogger in Run, Fat Boy, Run rather than pile on the pounds.

The actor began filming his new movie just a month after he finished cop comedy Hot Fuzz, for which he trained for four months and lost two stone.

After all that work he decided not to plump up again, reports The Sun.

Simon told the paper: "I was in peak physical condition.

"The film isn't a joke about being fat. It is more about being fat of mind, becoming slothful and stopping caring. I had three fatsuits, in decreasing fatness, that I wore for filming. The biggest one had man boobs.

"The suits were very annoying, especially when nature called. I decided against putting on weight for real because it is unhealthy and the film required me to run a lot."

Simon said the film inspired him to take up running in real life.

He said: "I really enjoy getting out there and having a little run. It's a nice way to relax. I am tempted now to enter a fun run or maybe even do the London Marathon."

I don't think it was as good as those two. There's just something about Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright's writing (and the latter's direction) that no-one else can touch. But being that it's written by Simon, it was always going to be funny. It's worth a watch, at least!

I completely forgot that Thandie Newton was in this movie! She is a brilliant actress. I just love her :)

How was this compared to Shaun or Fuzz? It looks great, but I haven't gotten to it yet. I hope I'm not let down...

I loved Simon Pegg in Hot Fuzz and I'm interested in watching this and Shaun of the Dead. Yay, so exciting. I love that story about Thandie Newton pranking Simon.

I'm really excited for this film to be released. I love Simon Pegg in Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead and I can't wait to see what David Schwimmer can do. We really haven't seen/heard a lot from him since Friends so it's great to see that he's still working, being creative and trying new things in the industry :)

ha, they even have some contest running for it. the movie was released last year but only came out in north america this year.

Love Simon but the film was pretty avearage. laughed the most at the opening scene when he was chasing the theif.

i love david schwimmer since he appeared on friends... it's nice to hear that he directed this movie...

Oh God yeah! I'd forgotten about that bit, but it was awful and definitely cringe-worthy  Also the bit when he's talking to Hank Azaria's character (can't remember his name right now) in the locker room, and he's standing in front of him in all his naked glory. I shuddered muchly on SP's behalf!

^ thanks for the pics and article - looking good :)
