Rude people in movie theatres...

I prefer to get hold of pirate copies and watch at home, it's a lot cheaper and you don't have to put up with the tossers in the audience.
 
True but you have to look at it from her point of view she had paid to see a film and there were more of you there than her. I don't condone what she did but if it was empty except for her and you guys then I can see how she may direct all her attention towarRAB you. Maybe it was just from her experience that she assumed and individual who had children with here would probably start making trouble.

Anyway back on topic, I went to see Alien Vs Predator in Birmingham at a free screening with about 5 other frienRAB. The cinema was completely full because it was free. We sat in the middle back row and as the film started we quietly ate our popcorn and then to the right of us were about 4 girls of about 16-19 years old who started to talk throughout. We didn't care and it seemed no-one else did but they started talking about how they hadn't seen Predator or any Alien films. Again everyone in the cinema seemed to let it slide, then during the film there is a point when the of Predators takes off his mask. At this point I'd already missed parts of the film as they kept texting on their phones and you could hear the low rumble from the vibrate function. The second the Predator took off his mask one of the girls screamed

"Eeeee, look at his face!"

That was the straw.

I turned to my right and shouted "What did you think he was gonna look like?"

She then shouted back "Who said that? Why are you talking in the film?"

Everyone started laughing at her with a few people saying it was because she was. She didn't leave the cinema but she didnt say another word.

That's where you lost me.

It sounRAB like you disturbed this woman at least 3 times with your noise. Your kiRAB wouldn't even try to use the loo before the film started, you fed them plenty of liquiRAB, and then you somehow think you're not responsible if they need to go during the film. You had to go yourself, of course - couldn't just go when the kid did, but had to wait to spoil another part of the film. You were eating and drinking during the movie so of course that made a lot of noise - more than it would have done if it hadn't gone down the wrong way, but if you hadn't been eating at all that wouldn't have happened.

I suspect you made more noise that you realised. It's very hard to eat and drink quietly. Somehow trying to do it quietly makes it worse.

I'm not surprised the woman was annoyed with you. Still, your boys enjoyed themselves and apparently that's all that matters.
 
Are you joking? Eating in a cinema is fine, certain rustling of wrappers you can put up with. People talking, buggering about with mobiles is not, nor is giggling and behaving like an arse.

The OP I thought was justified with being aggrieved with that woman's behaviour, I'd have gone around, sat next to her and told her a few home truths. She had the whole cinema to choose from and sat right in front of them?
 
On the same note, a bunch of giggly girls and a cpl of boys were in the same performance as us when we watched Pirates 3. Someone got up and complained and they were read the riot act by the cinema staff. I was most impressed.

Maybe cinemas realise they are losing a lot of custom by ppl being put off by selfish behavioiur and are trying to do something about it
 
i know this makes me sound like a right miserable cow, but thats why i only watch 15+ films at the cinema, you dont have to deal with screaming kiRAB!
 
I totally agree with you. When I went to see Oceans 13, there were about five 13 year old girls sitting a few rows behind and they just would not stop talking! A couple of them started mucking about and moved down to the front rows and were throwing stuff up into the air right in front of the screen. Eventually they got told off by the staff.

What also annoys me about the cinema is that 1) when its quite empty, people always sit in front of you even though theres loaRAB of other seats and 2) people who sit on the end two seats of a row of four, so that you cant sit in that row. :mad:
 
But you can still see the screen no matter where you sit! I can see what you're saying, but im sure two rows in front or behind or on the left or right of the stairs shouldnt matter?
 
I hate when people sigh and moan when others get up during the movie. Then others are talking and laughing at kicking other peoples seats and no one mentiosn anything.
 
For me my pet cinema peeve is children kicking the back of my seat. I actually despise it, and on countless occasions have had to ask them to stop. Nicely at first obviously, but if they persist I will mention it to their parents.

Saw Shrek 3 the other day, and some guy had his feet up on my chair!!! Ok so he may not have had enough leg room....bloody move then! Don't stick your feet next to my head!
 
In the third LOTR film, some girl in the row behind me said loudly to her friend when Frodo was lying supposedly dead:

"But he's not REALLY dead, they take him to the tower and he wakes up, I saw this last week"

Well that ruined the suspense a bit.
 
I was at the cinema to see quite a serious foreign-language film and two women in our row were chatting away during the bit where all the production companies' logos appear (as always, Canal+ was involved). Two very intense-looking guys in front of me turned round and just stared at the women and they stopped talking instantly.

Moral: if you want peace in the cinema, get a no. 1 crop and a leather jacket. And only go to art house cinemas.
 
What really gets me is, how can people not go a 1.5 - 2 hours without going to the toilet.

Also why do they tend to go during the best parts of the film or right at the end. I'm not sure about you but even if I was bursting for the toilet and there was 10 minutes to go, I'll stay and wait JUST to find out what happens.

Last thing if they know DAMN well that there going to be getting up every 15 minutes for a p*ss.... why not sit on the end seats so they don't disturb everybody because they have drank enough coke to last you a month.
 
Don't be ridiculous.

Having the sort of reaction outlined by the OP is ridiculous, just because people are eating or have to go to the toilet. Many children can't sit in a cinema for two and a half hours without having to go out halfway through. It's hardly a major disturbance.

The problems in cinemas are caused by people who won't shut up, who think it's fine to just talk at their normal volume, who constantly kick the seats in front, who answer their phones and send texts, who run up and down the stairs for no reason other than to cause mayhem, who clearly have no interest in watching the film but are just using the cinema as a place to 'hang out' and talk loudly, who make stupid wisecracks based on stuff that's happening on the screen, and who generally don't know how to behave in such a setting.
 
May be the woman has a favourite seat and ALWAYS has to sit in it....or it was dark when she walked in and didn't realise where people were sat...

I also get really annoyed by people kicking my seat - not just once accidently but constant thud thud thud....... also by people having conversations on their mobiles 'quietly'
