Rubber Gasket Stain

Any suggestions on how to remove a rubber stain on the paint work? The gasket for my mirrors were place on the outside when installed causing them to discolor the paint turning it brown.
My bike is stored at all times so i don't think it was caused by prolonged sun exposure. I have tried using a 3m wax and a lot of elbow grease with no effect. My next choice is to use a rubbing compound.

Would appreciate any suggestions???

GooGone might work.
It works on most anything, even tar.

They're all like that it's in the clear coat, i think some people here had luck with rubbing compound like you stated.

1 grand clear coat cleaner went to 3 detail shops to get marks off my bike untill one guy used this worked

I think this is only a problem on the white bikes. I did'nt have anything on mine when I took off my mirrors.

why was the rubber gasket on the outside of the mirror fairing?

Rubber gasket lies underneath, but the mirror itself has a rubber seal built in that stains the white bikes as well. For the most part it's confined to the contact patch, meaning it's ususally hidden beneath the mirror attachment.
