Routine pregnancy blood test results?

don't worry, everything is fine. they would have called you by now if there was a problem. your friend is right that no news is good news, especially when it comes to these pregnancy labs. hang in there and congratulations.

Hey! Quick question i am desperate for the answer for, any help would be appreciated
Im pregnant with my first child - i had my first scan and blood tests 9 working days ago now - ive been so nervous about the blood tests since i found out i was pregnant, i am a major worry well. In particular concerned about HIV
I have already received the all clear regarding the chlamydia test they did, infact i received that about 2 working days after i went to the clinic so i am assuming that by now the blood tests would have been sent off to the lab??
I have been told by friends that have had children that the midwife or heathworkers will only ring if there is a problem or they have found something wrong (but as a worry well i worry incase this isnt the case and they just saying it to stop me worrying - stupid i no)
Ive got my ultra sound a week today so i am so frightened they are going to save the bad news until then...
Do you think that if there was a problem i would know by now? I havent taken my eyes off my phone since they took the blood and just looking for some reassurance
Please help if you can x

I'm pretty sure they would have called you if any of your tests indicated a problem. Especially HIV. I'm sort of confused about why you haven't just called the office to find out the results yet? They'll tell you the results and then you won't have to spend another few weeks staring at the phone.

Wo, slow down hun! You're gonna end up with extremely high blood pressure so you need to chill out big time! If there was anything untoward on your blood tests, you would have been notified by now. When the results are returned to your surgery or clinic where your blood samples were taken, they would have been checked for anything abnormal and you would have heard from your midwife immediately so stop worrying! They are routine blood tests, something that every pregnant woman has done, and more than anything, they are helpful to your care provider to show them that you are healthy and not lacking in anything such as iron which may place you at risk when carrying a baby, as they can place a great strain on your bod! They can, of course, help to diagnose things like downs syndrome but again, this is all just routine and really nothing for you to worry about.
I suggest you go and put the kettle on and sit down with a well earned cuppa and please don't sit there thinking something is wrong - no news is good news, as they say, so just forget it and start enjoying your pregnancy!

I think you will be fine hun. Just relax. If there was something wrong your doctor would call you and have you come in to talk. When i had my labs done i got my results back the next day, but where i go they give you a number and after your get a call saying your labs are in you call the number enter you SS and your birthday and get the results.

you have nothing to worry about at all so calm down if they had found anything abnormal you would of heard by now they wont leave it till your scan it is literally a case of no news is good news
