Dear Mr. Stephen Holman,
Thank you for your interest in ROUTE 66 products.

The new version of Mobile 7 Series 60, 3rd generation is not available in USA, that is why you can see listed only the phones that are compatible with the previous generation.

Thank you for your understanding.

Best regards,

Subject: support for usa and Nokia E61 S60 v3

On your website, for Route 66 Mobile 7 for Series 60 phones in United States, under compatible phones, it does not list Nokia E61 as being compatible.

But if I add Mobile 7 to my shopping cart, on the following pages it has Nokia E61 in the dropdown list when it asks me to chose my phone.

Before I purchase your software, I'm looking for a concrete answer. Does Mobile 7 for S60 work on Nokia E61 with S60 version 3 and take full advantage of the E61's 320x240 landscape screen?

Also, what is the date of the NAVTEQ maps included with Mobile 7 for S60?

Thanks for your help
Stephen Holman

How about this one? (Destinator SP) Appears to support S60v3 and maybe should be added to the above list? Anyone tried it?

On Destinator SP site, the phones that it lists under compatibility, I don't believe any of those are S60v3

"The Destinator development team is constantly testing new devices for compatibility. New smartphones come onto the market regularly.

The following is the most up-to-date list of compatible and supported smartphones available:
Nokia 3230
Nokia 6600
Nokia 6620
Nokia 6630
Nokia 6670
Nokia 6680
Nokia 6681
Nokia N900

My bad.. I didn't notice those weren't v3 phones.. Oh well.. Looks like Route 66 is the only real option for me right now...

I had rout66 working on my N70 not perfect as occassionally it lost connection but all it needed was a quick key press and I was back in business.

Having bought an N80 I was delighted when route66 was ported to v9.1 and was reasonably happy to pay the 49euro to upgrade but no I'd had my N70 version over 6 months so didn't qualify for an upgrade.

Ah well in for a penny in for a pound well actually 99euro for the full new version. Got home last night and it had arrived. It installed with no problems at all - Great I thought - Then I gave it a trial on my way to work this morning - started off akay and then on a twenty mile trip crashed three times with the N80 just returning to the phones standby screen.

At least life with Nokia's and sat nav is never boring.

Anybody try it yet?

Thanks. Looking forward to hearing about what you think of it.. I would like to order it soon also but will wait for yours to arrive first and hear your feedback...

The problem is on my N80 which is running the latest firmware.

I'm also on v5 firmware on my N70

Out of interest I loaded the new version of route66 onto my N70 which had the original Route66 on it working perfect. The new software crashes on the N70.

Looks like they now support S60v3 phones with US maps!

I am also looking at the Route66 product for my E61. I am curious as to whether or not you can continue to use the E61 as a 'phone' at the same time you are using the software and navigating. The product description indicates that you can choose to call a 'point of interest' to make reservations, for example, while using the product -- this is a good sign. If I can't continue to use the E61 as a phone while navigating, I'm not interested. A related question is whether or not you can use a BT headset while you are connected to the GPS receiver. Anyone have insight into these questions? Thanks!

i have tried all the ones that download the maps using gprs and they all have been slow to update and really havent been worth the download. the best software i ever used was pocket streets for my hp6920
