Route66 SatNav for Series 60V3

Wow, they must be really quick, because it was only announced today. Click here to view Route66 on a N80

They are obviously trying to use the old version.

No. that's not true.

There are currently 3 options:

www.wayfinder.com (maps are downloaded via GPRS/UMTS) ~ 100 bucks.
www.nav4all.com (same as above. currently free) Installed via www.nav4all.com/install
Only issue right now with nav4all is lack of support for qwerty keyboard on E61. It assumes you have a regular Nokia dial pad.
www.66.com (maps are stored on the memory card ~ 150 bucks.

The one everyone's waiting for is TomTom which unfortunatley does not yet support S60v3.

I was just speaking on the fact that they dont have the E61 on the N American compatability list. I just thought since the phone has a different screen res and orientation it might not work right.

Add Route 66 N. America to your cart, from there, you'll see that E61 is in the dropdown when it asks you to chose your phone...at least it was yesterday when I added it to my cart

...just tried it again, and E61 is still in the dropdown list when it asks you to chose your phone.

I would suggest that anyone purchasing this contact them first to be sure that it works with the E61. $150 is allot to drop. They really need to update their faq and supported device list.

I've been itching to get my feet with with some GPS navigation. Whomever gets this software please post your experience with Route 66 and E61.

Thanks

I think Route66 is close, but I just wish they were there since they already have my money.

Wayfinder has North America maps, but I found that my street (that has been here for 7 years) is not on their map, YMMV. There is also the issue that you download the maps from them as you need them (thus perhaps large GPRS charges depending on your provider). I think you may also be able to cache them when you have a WiFi connection, but sounds like a pain to me.

Now I'm noticing even more discrepancies on their site.
Software for S60 phones shows map data (Q3-2005): the United States and Canada
But Software for WM Smartphones shows map data (NAVTEQ Q1 2006)
Pocket PC shows (NAVTEQ, Q4-2005)

WTF

Yeah, it looks like that the S60 version (unlike the Pocket PC version) is working from Navteq maps from last year.....

I wonder how often they update their software.

Route 66, does not currently support S60v3, they take your order and ship you the S60v2 - they seem to be trying to fix this, but the date seems to be slipping.

This appears to be a good deal for Route 66 + gps receiver
