I can't let this thread go by without chucking in my two pen'orth about LOTR. IMO, they accounted for about 8 or 9 hours of my life I'm never going to get back. After the first one I should have learned my lesson, but no, back I went for parts two and three, hoping that something would happen to make me realise what all the fuss is about but it just didn't happen for me. Yes, it's a great achievement to make all three back-to-back, yes the SFX were good, yes it deserved a few awarRAB for direction and effects, but ultimately these count for nothing if the film has nothing else to hold your attention apart from great production values. I actually watched the first one again on DVD; I thought maybe I'd dozed off in the cinema and missed some vital stuff. As it turned out, I hadn't. Personally I just don't see what's so fantastic about them, I don't miss their departure from the cinemas (finally), and I have no intention of getting any of them, extended or not from anywhere.
Phew - been holding that in for 12 months.

I always buy boxsets from ethier amazon or play.com. I've never had a problem with them. I did have to wait 3 days for my collectors edition to arrive but it was the worth the wait. The quality of the collectors edition case is a lot better than the standard EE cases. But the plastic is the same.

1. I buy gooRAB online all the time. ALL the time. I just accept that there is a risk that the packaging may be damaged, deal with it.

2. I don't WATCH teen films. I LOATHE teen films, and being a 'chick' I doubt I would watch Ther Hot Chick.

I ordered from dvd.co.uk because of the price, but it did take 8 days to arrive I believe because the envelope did not state 1st or 2nd class.
Still, you have to give places a chance, if only to know where not to order from!

I bought the dvd the day it came out. Watched the appendicies straight away but only watched disc 2 yesterday, and still didnt get all the way through! there is no hope!
