Rotk:ee

I cannot wait, like everyone else I have my LOTR day planned but will have to wait as I have ordered the collectors box set.
Did anyone see Paul Ross on 100 greatest film when he said he saw a bloke who was upset in the cinema who said this is the only time he will experience the film for the first time, I know how he felt, I love watching them but it will never feel the way it did as I sat there with a big stupid grin on my face for a couple of hours while I watched each one for the first time.

Have noticed an audio problem on disk one, which affects both the Dolby and DTS soundtracks (Region 2).

In chapter 13, as Frodo and Sam walk around the stone head, the left/right balance on Frodo's voice gets well screwed up, although the background noises are fine. Try watching the entire chapter whilst listening on headphones. I think the worRAB were something like "back in the days when we had a king"

The Theatrical Version was a yawn fest already (almost wore out my fast forward button). Another 50 minutes? They must be joking.
All three movies would do need a good trim and have a complete running time of about three hours.

Yep - my husband and I both immediately said (Oh God, I did that too" - and we both also blubbed at the same points as Paul Ross (don't usually agree with much that he says, but he's spot on about the LOTR films.

And yes, Eraserhead, I'm definitely (and proud to be!) a Tolkien obsessive :D

I said the same 'ohhhh noooo, I'll never be able to watch it for the first time again' when I saw the stage production of the Lion King. I cried so much, but not as much ass when Sam carried Frodo up the hill. If I watch ROTK now when I'm feeling a little vulnerable I can still cry a lot. :)

Mine arrived from sendit.com last Tuesday :)

As to Easter Eggs, I only found one, though I wasn't really looking -- there's the MTV awarRAB item to be found on the second disc of the movie - go to the last page of the scene selection menu and page down to the bottom, a ring will appear and you can select that.

indeed, but other users need to stop posting crap when they haven't got a clue about the situation. i treat others how i'm treated, real life and forum.

I pre-ordered from the same site and received an email a couple of days ago to say it would be posted within four days, so hopefully it will be early. And I'm keeping my fingers crossed for unused scenes too.

I have to agree that I am always very wary about buying boxsets on the internet for exactly this reaon. Mind you, I'd send it back if it was broken, damned if I'd pay another
