I'm really interested in getting the drill team back at my detachment however my biggest challenge is purchasing spinning rifles. I assumed spinning rifles weight no more then 4 lbs but after reading up on daisy.com and other sources, it said they weigh 8 lbs. We have 8 lb M1 replicas we use for color guard but theres no way those can be used for spinning.
Where can I find a lightweight cheap spinning rifle? Which one is better to use, the M1 or the 1903? Also, are there certain rifles you have to use for the competitions?
I'm working with a budget of 250 and would like to buy at least 5 or 6 rifles.
I would really like to bring this tradition back to my school and any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
