Ross Kemp is an inspiration.

I love his programmes. He puts himself in grave danger just to show us what things are like.

Him going to Afghanistan, and also his programmes now on gangs. It is very interesting to watch and it must be very fearful having watched some of the stuff.

Bravo to Kemp.

An inspiration? Only if you admire bald, hard acting but still in the closet guys who are unlikely to be in any danger at all but Sky hype it up to make it seem that he's in taking dangerous risks. He's not exactly John Pilger, is he?

Ah he's alright! Did you see the episode of Extras he was in? He sent himself up brilliantly!

I guess I'm being harsh but I don't understand why anyone is inspired by him when there are so many other investigative journalists worthy of mention.

Maybe a little hype, but some of the stuff he does gets a bit close, and I think he ( and the team with him) take risks that Mr Pilger wouldn't,

Well maybe not now, he's getting on a bit. But Pilger was an on-the-ground, investigative reporter in Vietnam and Cambodia during the war and immediately after it during Pol Pots reign of terror... he was also allegedly on a Khmer Rouge hit list... Now that takes real balls

Pay me what he gets for going to Afghanistan and I will go too, And then I can be a second inspiration to you.

I'll even shave most of my head as I'm happy to method act.

There are plenty of journalists today (notably from Al Jazeera) who put themselves in grave danger when they report from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran etc.

Kemp is no different but has the privilege of capturing it all in pristine HD.

Having said that though, he has improved vastly.

I do like Kemp, and his shows were good. Plus he's Graaant Mitchell. RK on gangs was really cool but I wouldn't call him an inspiration. The fact he probably got paid so much more than the soldiers is kind've wrong.
