roots from neighbours tree is causing my shed base to crack in my garden?

Why go to law about it? Can you not discuss it with your neighbour? Alll it needs is for the offending roots to be cut and removed.
 
Photograph the damage clearly showing the roots are the cause. The neighbour is responsible. You can cut up the roots as they are on your property, but you must give them to the neighbour. Better to chat with the neighbour because damaging the roots will kill the tree. Can you move the shed ??
